I am so thankful to have been able to go on this one in a lifetime trip. Here is a video I made to reflect on some of the best twelve days of my life: https://vimeo.com/275359948. I hope this puts things into perspective. Grazie mille for tuning into my May study abroad experience!

Capri has my heart. I've always loved the beach, but the island of Capri is so much more than just a beach town. It's like any town with Italian charm, paired with the gorgeous blue sea. There were no business visits today, as our last full day in Italy was focused on enjoying the beautiful island before us. Sorrento (Capri) Tip #4: Be very wary of the tourist traps here. Most (if not all) of the restaurants near the shore are tourist traps. Unfortunately, we did not have enough time to take the train up to the top, but I am sure there are better restaurants up there. If you decide to eat by the shore like we did, prepare for drinks and meals to cost at least 10 euro each. 6/19/2018 0 Comments May 24After taking our final test, we boarded the bus to Pompeii. We were greeted by our tour guide, who took us through the fascinating, albeit tragic historical site. It was hard to connect the history of Pompeii with the sight of the ruins, as they removed the casts of the victims and placed them in an exhibit near the entrance. Sorrento Tip #1: If you are staying in Sorrento, Pompeii is a must! It's only an hour bus ride, but be wary of the traffic, as the roads are very narrow. Afterwards we had lunch and wine pairings at Cantina del Vesuvio, a local vineyard with a good reputation. Family owned since 1948, the vineyard has worked to create high quality, organic wine. There is something about the ambiance of vineyards that I find utterly relaxing. The scenery was stunning, and, combined with the beautiful weather, made for a lovely afternoon.

Not only was today a huge shopping day for the group, but it also provided several great opportunities to delve into the international retail industry. As I've said before, artisanship is extremely important to Italian commerce. Out of all the countries I have ever been to, I would have to say that this statement is exemplified the most in Italy. In a world fueled by consumerism and mass production, it is nice to see such a large amount of respect for craftsmanship and quality. 6/19/2018 0 Comments May 22We checked out of our Rome hotel at 7:45 am and began our journey to Sorrento. By bus, it takes about 3-4 hours to go to Sorrento from Rome. We arrived at our hotel around noon. We realized on the way there that Sorrento was going to be a bit different from the rest of the cities we had visited during the trip- in the best way possible. The Amalfi coast is so beautiful, and we got plenty of views from just the drive up. After checking into our hotel, we went to I Giardini di Cataldo, a beautiful limoncello manufacturer and lemon grove. There, we tried a multitude of lemon products and variations of limoncello. I am a big fan of citrus fruits, so this was a lot of fun for me.
